Bodhisatva and Compasssion

Baba Sri Siva Speaks:

“Bodhisatva is one who out of compassion has decided to stay on the earth plane to help humanity to move to the next level in the evolution. Bodhisatva is a Buddhist concept. The Hindus have a similar concept: Jivanmukta. A jivanmukta is a liberated soul but stays on the earth plane playing this game of ignorance to serve humanity. The earth plane is a terrible plane of darkness.

There are three prequisites for the soul to sustain itself on the earth plane. Ego, which is 'I consciousness', 'Maya' which is an illusionary force that creates incredible attraction and slavery to worldly things (mansions, boats, girls/guys, expensive clothes, etc.) and 'Karma' which is past life longings for Maya that have manifested this life.

The role of the Bodhisatva is invisible rather than visible. He knows very well that at a given time only a few souls are going to get to the next stage in evolution. He will find them and guide them to the next level.

Jesus found his disciples the same way. They were not perfect at that time, but they were the best available. He guided them while he was alive and continued to help them even after he left his body.

The primary teaching of the enlightened person is that the goal of life is self realization. I have told my students that it's not important to become a millionnaire, but it is important to be enlightened.

People ask me, "Can we have both?" My answer is, "Yes." But I see problems in trying to get both within a limited period of time. Already we work 8 hours a day and meditate 1/2 hour. I don't want people to put a lot of emphasis on money. I am not saying that one should be poor. Poverty is a hindrance to enlightenment. Make enough money to live comfortably and meditate as much as possible.

When I was Swami Ramalingam, I made the following prediction in 1874. Lord Shiva is going to come in 10 or 15 days and change the consciousness of people. He will tear apart the dark green screen of maya within the third-eye for common people and for those who seek God alone he will tear other screens that block the vison of the soul.

During that time Shiva never showed up, and I ended up sacrificing my light body for the sake of giving it to many people. The search and march continues. Glory to Namasivaya."
