Heart Sorrow

Baba Sri Siva Speaks:

"My heart is filled with sorrow.

Don't think only you are sorrowful. My sorrow is very intense. It is heart sorrow. This morning I woke up, and I felt this sorrow very deeply entrenched, occupying my body, mind and soul. My sorrow is like the sorrow of everyone; it is due to a lack of money. Not that I lack money for my personal expenses. I have enough to live a comfortable life. Primarily my sorrow is based on my inability to feed several billions of human beings who are hungry. Some of them do not even get water to drink with a parched tongue. They pray to a God who somehow seems to me to be cruel. Yes, I understand that there is karma. These hungry people I can theoretically agree did something bad and that is why they have come to suffer. But does not God have the power to undo the evil? Doesn't he have the power to diffuse karma? Doesn't he have the power to feed everyone? Why would God play this drama of creation and destruction at the expense of the souls who anyway are ignorant? I have a desire to change God's mind.

He should right away stop playing games with the human beings. I see millions of people praying with all earnestness in their crusades conducted by evangelical ministers. True, someone gets healed miraculously. True, someone gets money miraculously. But we have to have a reality check here. How many get miraculous health? How many get miraculously cured? If spiritual healing is dependable we can for sure close down our emergency clinics. No one talks about the failure of prayer. Prayer fails all the time. Prayer is not answered most of the time. This is the reason why people have turned against faith and God. This is why we have excluded faith from classrooms and our government.

Remember, I am not against God. I am all for him. But he should definitely do better. He must act because people are dying every minute. I don't see a human solution for the world hunger. The solution has to come from God. He needs to change the minds and hearts of the people who are greedy and who seldom care about those who do not have. During my avatar incarnation as Swami Ramalingam, I tried my best to feed everyone. I saw the empty bowls of the beggars and cried. During that incarnation I constantly worked on a project to feed every human being. I had some initial success, but I was unable to feed all of the people as they wanted to be. I got frustrated and disappeared from the face of the earth. Now I am back again and now live in the United States. It is a great country. I feel the civilized world has the obligation to educate and civilize the Third World countries, which are largely suffering from poverty and starvation deaths.

I have a great resolve in this lifetime. It is to see that I do everything within my reach to fulfill my mission, which is to end poverty from the face of the earth plane. I want you to help me to accomplish this goal. You know that I have established the Tripura Foundation to help feed people in India. I am now on my way to India for a month. It makes me profoundly sorrowful that I am going there without much resources to feed the hungry people. You can help me in two ways. One is prayer. Whenever you eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner think of those human beings who are deprived of food and water. Do thank God for your food, but most importantly remind God, that there are still billions who are without food. He should feed them all, too. I am sure that if you do a prayer like this, you can put so much pressure on him to respond immediately. Secondly, you can help send some money to the hunger project. I know that many of you have financial problems. But at least God has you blessed with food, water and other basic requirements. It is important to share whatever little you have with others. I know the heart of the divine. He is not cruel. I do want to end this note with optimism. I know he is going to help you help the hungry billions very soon. I spend most of my time praying to God and requesting him to act fast.
