Sound waves are mysterious. They create the soul and matter but still no one has clearly understood the mystery behind sounds. The story of the Tower of Babel is illuminating in this respect.

In the beginning, every human race spoke only one language and they understood each other. They built the Tower of Babel so that they could climb up to heaven. God however did not like the human beings building this tower into the heavens. He confused the humans by putting different language divisions in their minds (in the Bible it says that God "confused their tongues"). With many people speaking different languages, they did not understand each other. Thus, the humans were forced to abandon the tower project.

There is a lot of meaning in this story beyond what is visible at the superficial level. It was indeed a divine conspiracy that I will unravel in the future. For now we will look into only one aspect of the story. It is the aspect of communication.

We communicate through sounds. Sounds have knowledge built into them. In fact, the only means of communication is through sounds. It's a tragedy that modern science has not yet understood the relationship between knowledge and sounds waves. Nevertheless, the seers of India knew that sound was everything. They knew that sound and consciousness are synonyms. They knew that matter and sound are synonyms. Exploring these concepts will open up new avenues within science and technology.

I want to simplify things for practical purposes. The seers of India classified sounds into vowels and consonants. This is in agreement with the study of all languages. Every language has both vowels and consonants and they are more or less similar to each other. But the Indian seers perceived within the vowels and consonants extraordinary knowledge and power. They were not too thrilled by the use of sounds to communicate social discourses or discursive thoughts (i.e., processes by which cultural meanings are produced and understood). The expressed spoken sound produced through the combined efforts of the vocal cord, tongue and teeth were not important for the seers. They were interested in the thought level and the pre-thought level of the sounds. At the pre-thought level each vowel or consonant carried the secret for unlimited knowledge and power.

They saw that the pre-thought level of the sounds constituted the common ground in which matter and energy became interchangeable. The word and the object it denotes remain without distinction at this level. Functioning from this pre-thought level, the seer gained the ability of thought manifestation. The seer thinks about an apple and the apple materializes before him in three-dimensional reality. Manifestation techniques that I teach rely heavily on this concept. You use some seed sounds or "bijas". These bijas are called the mantras. Each mantra carries within itself certain material properties. "Shreem", the mantra for Lakshmi, carries gold and diamond within its deeper structure. "Aim", the mantra for Saraswati, carries within its deeper structure different kinds of knowledge and intelligence. One becomes an adept in the use of mantras when one understands the value of each stage of the sounds from its pre-thought level to the spoken form. This knowledge is gained only through the grace of the Guru. Nevertheless, everyone will benefit through the general understanding that I have put forth in this note.

The seers called these mantras "the mother" (matrika). Just as the mother creates the baby, the mantra also creates whatever you want. In the upcoming Golden Age those eligible will receive this secret knowledge of thought manifestation. People will then understand the power of sounds.
